Dear Easton Community:

At the May 26, 2026, Easton School Board meeting, the Easton Board of Directors accepted the resignation of longtime Director Mr. Phil Meehan. 

The Easton School District Board of Directors would like to express its gratitude and sincere appreciation to Director Meehan for his dedicated service to our students, staff, families, and community. Throughout his tenure on the Board, Mr. Meehan has generously given his time, leadership, and commitment to supporting the mission and vision of the Easton School District. His steady guidance, advocacy for students, and willingness to serve the community, even during rocky times, have made a lasting positive impact on the District. The Board is truly grateful for his years of service and extends its heartfelt thanks for the care and dedication he has shown to Easton schools and the broader community. Mr. Meehan will continue to serve the community as part of the Easton Fire Department.

Due to the resignation of Director Meehan, the Board is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving as an appointed member of the Board of Directors until the next regular election cycle, November 2027

Qualified applicants must:

• Be a registered voter in the State of Washington

• Reside within the boundaries of Easton School District

• Be willing to uphold the responsibilities and expectations of board service and Easton School District Board of Directors Operating Principles

The Easton School Board is encouraging individuals interested in being considered for appointment to this vacant position, and applicants are sought for appointment.

Applications will be accepted through July 14, 2026. 

The Board anticipates reviewing applications and conducting interviews of prospective Board members at a public meeting on July 28, 2026, at 5:30 pm, with appointment consideration shortly thereafter.
