School Counselors have an ethical and legal obligation to keep students information confidential unless under the following circumstances:
Student Safety such as:
Someone is hurting you
You want to hurt someone else
You want to hurt yourself
Legal Requirements such as:
Imminent Danger
Child abuse/neglect
Court order
Consent

Bullying Information
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.
Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.
Three types of Bullying.
Verbal Bullying: saying or writing mean things. Examples included:
Teasing
Name calling
Inappropriate sexual comments
Taunting
Threating to cause harm
Social Bullying: Involves hurting someone's reputation or relationships. Examples included:
Leaving someone out on purpose
Telling others not to be friends with someone
Spreading rumors about someone
Embarrassing someone in public
Physical Bullying: hurting a person's body or possessions. Examples included:
Hitting/kicking/pinching
Spitting
Tripping/Pushing
Taking or breaking someone's things
Making mean or rude hand gestures
Bullying can occur anywhere - in person or online.

If you have experienced bulling or have witnessed it occurring talk to a trusted adult at school. Staff employees can not see everything, we are relaying on you to help keep our school a safe place to be.

You can remain anonymous by not providing identifying information. You can request help by calling, texting, and through the app.
Child Protective Services
As school employees we are mandated reporters. This means we are legally required to report suspected child abuse or neglect to the Department of Children, Youth & Families or law enforcement.
